Do not train children to learning by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.
Line Drawings of NZ Landscapes
STOP PRESS 2/8/2010: This workshop has been brought forward from the 24th.
In Line Drawings of NZ Landscapes, children learn the fundamentals of landscape picture composition. They each produce a pen drawing which includes shading. The workshop concludes with an inspiring dye colour demonstration (pen and wash technique).
Please bring: 1 Stephens Vivid Black Fine Permanent Marker Pen and an HB pencil.
You will be provided with newspaper, A4 paper and soft crayons.
A drawing guide will again be made available for the younger ones so they can follow along.
Our workshop will comprise effectively of 2 sessions. The first will be from 12.45 to 1.50pm with a 10-minute break and then Graham will demonstrate how to apply colour to the pen drawings in the second part. He will use dyes as his surface area is greater, and we will use the soft crayons. The workshop will finish by 2.30pm giving those needing to pick up children or meet after-school activities the opportunity to do so in an less rushed manner. ;)
Graham will have a range of his prints and his Art course available for sale on the day.
We will have a 'pay on the day' policy. Each family will need to have a cheque available made out to "Twin City Home Educators Trust" or the exact cash please. Come a little earlier to settle your account please so we don't eat into the workshop time.
