Spelling

This idea came from one of our mums who is a SPELD assessor and teacher.

You can use any spelling list that you like.

Each day of the week the child writes each of the words and writes 2-3 sentences using a word from the list.

Then in addition:
Monday - the child groups the words into blend/sound families (if any)
Tuesday - the words are alphabetised
Wednesday - any syllables are identified
Thursday - 2 words that the child may not know are looked up in the dictionary and the meaning is written out
Friday - the 2 words from Thursday are illustrated.

Here is the idea all filled out and a template you can print and use - A4 Landscape OR 2 x A4 Portrait OR you can simply rule up an exercise book this way.
